![]() ![]() The Reverend Jackson did not look comfortable with the way this was going down. I don’t know if you saw it, if you watched it. ![]() No offense, kids! That’s Forbes magazine. The Forbes article on her funeral said: No offense, kids, but everyone talked about Whitney’s passion for the Bible. They even brought up Whitney Houston’s dog-eared Bible. Maybe it was a blog, I’m not sure which, but they apologized by warning readers that they were gonna be talking a lot about Christianity in their reporting of the story. RUSH: But first let me discuss the Whitney Houston funeral and get that out of the way so we can move on. Drudge’s headline: “America Goes to Church.” All day Saturday: “America Goes to Church.” This was a five-hour Christian worship service, and I’m telling you: None of this that happened could ever be said anywhere near the Democrat Party or their convention. (interruption) You didn’t see it? You’re chiding me for watching highlights of it, and he didn’t even see it? For crying out loud, it’s my job to know about this stuff and you’re making fun of me? You’re, chiding me? What am I, Jeremy Lin here? (interruption) Well, I wasn’t gonna watch five hours of it, but I saw enough of it, and I had a lot of e-mails about it, too. Do you realize nothing that happened, nothing that was said from the pulpit inside that church at the Whitney Houston funeral could ever be uttered from the podium at the Democrat National Convention? (interruption) What do I mean? Oh, you… Well, okay, then I’ll have to tell you about this as the program unfolds. That Whitney Houston funeral, if the whole thing… It went five hours, right? If the whole thing was what I saw, that funeral should scare the Democrat Party to its core. I did not watch it because I was playing golf, but I saw highlights of it, and I’m going to tell you something. ![]() RUSH: That’s it! That’s what Dingell’s life was all about, folks, the Affordable Care Act! There you go.RUSH: Let me tell you something. He was there for the Affordable Care Act. He was there for the Children’s Health Insurance Program. We can squeeze this in, I think, one more.ĬLINTON: He was interested in getting something done.ĬLINTON: His long loyalty to health care is legendary.ĬLINTON: But in the end what counts even more than his honoring his father was that he was there for Medicare and Medicaid. So the casket’s there and he cracks the joke (imitating Clinton), “It’s the only time in our entire lives that we’re in the same room with John Dingell and get the last word.” He looks at the casket, “Don’t you dare jump up, John.” I mean, John’s family would love for him to jump up, right? Here’s one more. Michigan Congressman John Dingell passed away recently, and this morning in Washington - they couldn’t get to Michigan ’cause of the weather so they had a memorial in Washington, the Holy Trinity Church, and during the funeral service Slick Willie showed up and found his way to the microphone.ĬLINTON: Let’s be honest, one of the reasons none of us would have missed this is this is the only time in our entire lives in public service that we were in the same room with John Dingell and got the last word. But, regardless, they show up and they horn in on it and they make sure it all ends up about them, and it just happened again. Sometimes the Reverend Sharpton and Reverend Jackson. Whenever a prominent Democrat dies, the Clintons are there. ![]() RUSH: You know, the Clintons are many things, including - grab sound bites 22, 23 - the Clintons are funeral crashers. ![]()
